Prevention of accidental falls

Accidental falls are among the major problems in hospitals and they represent a major challenge in the so-called aging society. QIRIS’ research has the purpose of understanding the phenomenon of the accidental falls in terms of both their social impact and their economic impact. In addition, QIRIS’ researhc aims at identifying behavioral factors that may increase or reduce the risk of falling. QIRIS has developed fallarm, a technological solution for fall prevention. Fallarm is based on a wearable device that informs the patient in situations where the risk is higher, promoting users’ awareness on their responsible mobility.
